Park Ridge, Illinois – Interra Global, the specialty chemical distribution company based just outside Chicago, announced today that they have come to an agreement with HeGo Biotec GmbH to be the exclusive North American supplier for the highly successful FerroSorp hydrogen sulfide removal media. HeGo has produced FerroSorp for the European biogas market for 25 years and is now making it available in North America through Interra Global.

Removing hydrogen sulfide, or H2S, from gas systems is a critical step in the purification process of biogas. Interra Global responded to their biogas customers’ needs by scouring the planet for the most effective solution to the H2S problem. Thanks to this critical partnership with HeGo, Interra Global can now offer this most effective solution across North America. The FerroSorp product has very high H2S loading rates and other advantages that will help customers remove H2S more efficiently and economically.
Landfill gas, wastewater treatment, and biogas are just a few applications that require H2S removal. Hydrogen sulfide must be removed to prevent corrosion of equipment downstream and to reduce sulfur dioxide emissions. Skiersch continues, “There are other H2S removal products on the market, but FerroSorp is a more efficient option. The product has extremely high media loading rates, a low bulk density, experiences only minor pressure drops or clumping issues, and is environmentally nonhazardous. These facts place FerroSorp in a class of its own.”
