Molecular Sieve 13X

Molecular Sieve 13X  is a multiple purpose, highly porous, high capacity alkali metal alumino-silicate in the spherical form. It is the sodium form of the Type X crystal structure with pore diameters of approximately 10Å. It can adsorb all molecules that can be adsorbed by 3A, 4A, and 5A molecular sieve. Type 13X molecular sieve can also adsorb molecules such as aromatics and branched-chain hydrocarbons, which have large critical diameters.

In addition to all of the same physical properties and behaviors as non-indicating molecular sieve, blue indicating molecular sieve 13X has the additional bonus of allowing the user to visually determine when it has reached saturation. When the beads are dry, they are blue, and when they have reached their adsorption capacity they become beige.

Handling & Storage Recommendations

Store 13X molecular sieve in a dry location to prevent unintentional water adsorption. Do not store super sacks outside; ultraviolet radiation and other adverse conditions will negatively impact its integrity and may eventually cause the bag to fail. Reseal packages after opening to prevent contamination and unintended water adsorption. We recommend that you rotate stock so the oldest material is used first.
