Interra Global Becomes the Exclusive North American Distributor of FerroSorp®

PARK RIDGE, Ill., June 17, 2016 - Interra Global has reached an agreement with HeGo Biotec GmbH to become the exclusive North American supplier of FerroSorp hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) removal media. HeGo Biotec has produced FerroSorp for the European biogas market for 25 years and now makes it available in North America through Interra Global.

Removing H₂S is a critical step in purifying biogas, and landfill gas and wastewater treatment require it as well. Removal protects downstream equipment from corrosion and reduces sulfur dioxide emissions. Interra Global sought out FerroSorp in response to its biogas customers' needs.

"Biogas generation is a new market for Interra Global, and we are entering it with an H₂S removal media that has already proven itself in Europe for more than two decades," said Jay Skiersch, Interra Global Vice President. "Our team will be able to help landfills, wastewater treatment facilities, and other sites increase their H₂S removal efficiency in a cost-effective manner."

"FerroSorp combines high H₂S loading rates with a low bulk density, and it runs with only minor pressure drop or clumping," Skiersch added. "Those are the properties our biogas customers were looking for."
