What Is Molecular Sieve?

Molecular sieves are synthetically produced zeolites, which are naturally occurring porous solids. These desiccants are capable of preferentially adsorbing other substances (water, nitrogen, etc.) based on size exclusion and polarity. Molecular sieves are all aluminosilicates, but their chemical formulas vary slightly depending on the positive ions that balance the negative charges given to the compounds by the aluminum, silicon, and oxygen.
